Many people get wrapped up in the notion that their life would be better if they just had a different job, made more money, were in a better relationship.......the list goes on and on. While it is good to have future goals, it can be a mistake to always think of happiness as something that is in the future.  Life does not have be perfect to be wonderful. Staying in the present and being thankful for today is empowering. After all, we do not have control over what is going to happen in the future. The more one tries to control everything, there is a realization that we do not have control over anything. The author, Eckhart Tolle teaches us this in his book The Power of Now. He tells us that "the Now is all there ever really is". Life is never perfect and is messy at times, but at the same time there is wonder in every moment and everyday. Staying in the present and looking at life though through a lens of gratitude helps us to see the WONDERFUL.

Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be". Make up your mind to stay in the present today, look for the wonderful and be happy even though your life may not be perfect.
